Delivery Styles/Methodology/Philosophical Background Information
The B.R.A.I.N. Team's mission is to promote optimal development of all children by integrating current brain research into educational, childcare, parenting, prevention and intervention programs in Eau Claire County. Presentations can be tailored to meet the needs of the group including time of day or evening, length of time, media use, place/venue, group size, handouts, topic focus, and format. Some specific topics that may be requested include impact on development, parent strategies to support brain development, effects of drugs, attachment, or nutrition.

Research shows that a child's early experiences largely determine how the brain develops and how the child interacts with the world throughout life. Knowledge of early childhood development is critical to guide parenting and childcare practices that will promote children’s reaching their full, lifelong potential. To address the need to disseminate this information to the community, The B.R.A.I.N. Team (Brain Research Awareness Integration Network) was established as a subcommittee of the Healthy Communities Infant and Child Health Action Team in August of 1999. Members include representatives from our two area hospitals, the Eau Claire Area School District, Eau Claire City/County Health Dept., Child Care Partnership, UW-Extension Office, the Family Resource Center, and others.

Eligibility
Groups should reside in Eau Claire County, however, we do have a fee scale for presentations done outside the county.

Generally our presentations are free of charge within Eau Claire County.
