CSSW provides child and family counseling for children ages 0-20 and their parents or primary caretakers and siblings.

Specialties and Target Groups
Children, ages 0-18 and their parents/custodians.  We offer counseling for school adjustment problems, physical/sexual abuse and other trauma victims, depression, anxiety, problems caused by divorce/separation/remarriage/death, parent-child conflicts, adjustment to foster care and adoption, etc.

Delivery Styles/Methodology/Philosophical Background Information
The purpose of the Child and Family Counseling Program is to help children and families resolve the types of problems identified, by strengthening the family and their relationships to one another. The counseling program is based on the premise that a child’s behavior and the family’s functioning are inter-related.  Working with the child only and ignoring the other sectors in which he or she must function is not sufficient to bring lasting change. Treatment can include a combination of individual work with the child, counseling for the parent (s) and family therapy. Group counseling is offered on an as needed basis.
